Fruit, vegetables, bread, baked goods, meat and sausage: it's not always easy to remember all the terms. Or to understand what the sales assistants are saying. What certainly helps is to get out of the classroom and go to the market, the bakery and the butcher! Because real life is the best place to learn.
No sooner said than done. And so we went shopping with our students without further ado. It was great fun and at the same time important to give them the self-confidence to go shopping on their own later on. Or to know in the exams what the respective foodstuffs are called. Because that's also an important building block on the road to success in language learning.
