Learning German the playful way – With our German language and stage acting course
Bamberg. Fun, drama and great learning experiences – all these ingredients are included in the newest language course creation of the Bamberg language institute TREFFPUNKT. This very special course will be presented for the first time in February 2020. From Monday, February 10th until Saturday, February 15th our German language and stage acting course "German theatre - theatre German course" will premier in Bamberg. Within one week the course participants will train and improve their German language skills, while learning the basic rules of stage acting at the same time.
Therefore, the class schedule includes vocal exercises, physical activities – e.g. how to move on a stage –, and improv acting exercises that will be presented by an experienced stage actor. Every student will receive an excerpt from a major work of world literature in German that matches his language skills so that he can work with the text and on his theatre role. Under the guidance of professional German language teachers, the course participants will explore and practise their German grammar skills, they will improve their pronunciation of the German language and they will exercise the vocabulary of their theatre texts. The course consists of 40 language lessons.
It also includes a variety of cultural activities and events. The language students will take a walk through Bamberg, following in the steps of the world-renowned romantic writer E.T.A. Hoffmann. They will attend a concert of the world-famous Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, they will discover the cultural life of Bamberg and they will also experience the city’s impressive diversity of local breweries during a visit. The highlight of the course "German theatre - theatre German course" will be the presentation of a short theatrical performance by the participants.
Hence, this new course of the language institute TREFFPUNKT – which is a cooperation with the Bamberg theatre school „Theaterschule Bamberg“ – offers its students a fantastic combination of stage acting and German language learning. No specific stage acting skills or previous acting experiences are required for this „German theatre - theatre German course“ course. The participants will learn all relevant theatre techniques and methods on site in Bamberg.
